Sometimes it would be nice to be able to allow friends to view the game I am playing or to view what they are playing.
Just like video chat, I think you should be able to create a room 'theatre' mode for example.
This would allow other PSN users to watch what you are doing on your PS3, it wouldn't need to be live and could instead could be screen shots every few seconds, but it would allow friends to easily see what type of game you are playing and could be used in interesting ways.
It would be nice to have graphs comparing trophies with other PSN users over time.
It would also be nice to have a timeline showing when you first played a game and trophies you achieved. This would allow you to track your progress over time, see when you started and finished games and compare your stats with friends with more percision and over time.
To increase security PS3 control pads should store a small amount of user information - mainly a username. Only if you use one of the seven possible pads that are synced with the system can you login with the username that is attached to them.
eg:
If your pad contains the user name "thekb" then you can only login to the PSN service as "thekb" using this control pad (or one of the oher 6 you may or may not have but have been synced at one point or another.)
This would increase security dramatically and would also cut down on piracy where friends share their games as unless the friends are actually friends and visit each other, then they will not be able to download their stuff from each other.

I've spent money on MAG and Warhawk. These games can only be played online. I bought them second hand and cannot return them. I want Sony to give me the DLC for these games free as way of paying be back as not being able to play for a week.
A good way to comensate psn users would be to add new features when it comes back such as cross-game chat and trophies in home.
The only compensation I need is Kevin Butler tea-bagging the hacker behind all of this.
A good way PSN can compensate us is to run a competition. The competition can be those who come up with the best adverts that restore faith from users with sony and the winner could get a large amount of money and even appear in the ad.
The only compensation I want and the only way I will have faith again with Sony is if they fire all of their online security staff and hire people that know what they are doing.
As way iof compensation i feel sony should give us a free copy of 'hacker' and 'the matrix' and 'swordfish' as an HD download.
The PSN has been down for over a week so I think as way of compensation all users should get a 'I survived the PSN hack attack' T-Shirt for Playstation home.
